This is an experiential, school and community outreach programme that promotes environmental responsibility while celebrating cultural traditions. The workshop introduces children and participants to the environmental impact of conventional plaster-of-Paris idols and encourages the adoption of eco-friendly alternatives.
Participants are guided to create their own Ganpati idols using shadu clay, a natural and eco-friendly material that dissolves easily in water without harming aquatic life. Alongside the hands-on activity, the workshop creates awareness about responsible celebration, waste reduction, and sustainable practices during festivals.
By blending creativity, culture, and environmental advocacy, the Eco-Ganpati Making Workshop inspires participants to make conscious choices and carry forward the message of sustainability within their families and communities.
